Mountain Overview

Trans YYBTN is a long-distance multi-summit circuit in the Lojing Highlands, linking Mount Yong Yap, Mount Bubu and Mount Tok Nenek through the Rengil Corridor system. Unlike a standard out-and-back trail, it forms a continuous loop across ridgelines, forest zones and remote summit sections before returning to the starting point. The route requires sustained endurance, steady pacing and strong navigation discipline due to its length, elevation gain and limited recovery sections.

LOJING GATEWAY

The expedition begins in the Lojing Highlands, where the final equipment check and briefing are completed before entering the Rengil Corridor. From the trailhead, the route quickly transitions into remote mountain terrain with limited facilities.

YONG YAP ASCENT

The climb towards Mount Yong Yap establishes the rhythm of the expedition through sustained elevation gain and continuous forest terrain. Efficient pacing and energy management are essential for the long circuit ahead.

MOUNT BUBU

The route continues towards Mount Bubu, where extended sections remain above 1,500 metres through cool montane forest and exposed ridge terrain. Sustained high-altitude travel, combined with repeated elevation changes, makes this one of the defining stages of the YYBTN Loop Circuit.

MOUNT TOK NENEK

Mount Tok Nenek marks the final major summit before the expedition leaves the main ridge. Completing this stage signifies the end of the multi-summit objective and the beginning of the return journey towards Lojing.

ENDURANCE PHASE

As the hours progress, the challenge shifts from climbing to maintaining a consistent pace across rugged mountain terrain. Hydration, nutrition and teamwork become increasingly important during the final stages of the expedition.

RETURN TO LOJING

The final descent returns to the original trailhead, completing the YYBTN Loop Circuit through the remote Rengil Corridor. Covering approximately 42 kilometres across three major summits, the expedition stands among the most demanding mountain circuits in the Lojing Highlands.

Expedition Complete
